Suicide rates in the U.S. increased 30% between 2000 and 2016——from 10.4 to 13.5 suicides per 100,000 population. Suicide rates increased an average of about 1% per year from 2000 through 2006, and by about 2% per year from 2006 to 2016. Males are at least three times more likely to commit suicide than females….
