Description: Measuring the quality of processes and clinical outcomes in the mental health and substance use treatment industry is gaining more attention across the health care spectrum. During this webinar, experts from NCQA – Junqing Liu, PhD, MSW, Research Scientist, and Lauren Niles, MPH, a Senior Research Associate, review the current behavioral health measures in the Healthcare Effectiveness Data & Information Set (HEDIS®). Dr. Lieu and Ms. Niles discuss the strategies they have seen providers and payers utilize when faced with challenges regarding measuring quality and responding to areas for improvement. They also provide an update on the future of behavioral health HEDIS® measures.

Junqing Lieu, PhD, MSW currently serves as a Research Scientist at NCQA©. She holds a PhD and a Master in Social Work from University at Albany, State University of New York. She received her undergraduate degree from China Youth University for Political Sciences.

Lauren Niles, M.P.H., B.S.
Featured Speaker

Lauren Niles, M.P.H., B.S., currently serves as a Senior Research Associate at The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA©). She holds an M.P.H. degree from The George Washington University and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is currently pursuing her DrPH degree in Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as a Bloomberg Fellow with a focus on substance use, addiction and overdose.
