In 2018, depression accounted for 44% of hospital stays for mental health issues in Pennsylvania. This was followed by schizophrenia (20.7%), bipolar issues (20.2%), suicidal issues (4.2%), trauma (3.6%), and anxiety and other miscellaneous mental disorders (7.3%).
