During 2017, people with comorbid medical and behavioral health conditions had estimated claims of $752 billion for medical and behavioral health care, across commercial insurers, Medicare, and Medicaid. The estimated $752 billion in spending for insured people with comorbid conditions represents about 34% of the estimated total $2.2 trillion in total spending for personal health services in 2017.
