People who experience a first episode of psychosis are more likely to be hospitalized later if they: experience treatment delays, fail to take antipsychotics as directed, or have co-occurring substance misuse. The increased likelihood of hospitalization ranged from 1.17 to 1.45. Treatment delay was defined as duration of untreated psychosis lasting more than 74 weeks….
