Who Can Be A Member Of PsychU?

PsychU was designed for individuals engaged in the mental health field. Members include psychiatrists, physicians, nurse practitioners, physicians assistants, nurses, care managers, therapists, pharmacists, administrators from both payer and provider organizations, advocates, researchers, and other clinicians and professionals involved in providing, financing, or regulating mental health services.

What Does It Cost To Be A Member?

Membership to PsychU is FREE. By becoming a member you gain access to a library of thousands of research summaries, news articles, perspectives pieces, interviews, and presentations – all available online. Additionally, members can participate or request a custom live educational program in their region from an Otsuka Medical Science or Managed Market Liaison, or listen in and add their voice to the Q&A session during a live-streaming Webinar.

When Was Psychu.org Launched?

Borne out of the Medical Affairs group at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc. (OPDC), PsychU was launched in November of 2014.

Who Funds PsychU?

PsychU is funded by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc., Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. (OAPI), and Lundbeck, LLC – committed supporters of mental health treatment. Content and programming for PsychU is product and compound agnostic; when content refers to treatment, only general classes of compounds are discussed – discussion of any Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc. product, Lundbeck product, or the products of any other company, is prohibited on the site.

Who Develops PsychU’s Content?

Medical writing support for PsychU is developed by the internal Otsuka Medical Affairs team, Oxford PharmaGenesis, Inc. and MedThink SciCom, a division of MedThink, Inc. Mental health management material is supported by OPEN MINDS.

What Topics Does PsychU Cover?

The PsychU Topic Libraries include bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, stigma, wellness, co-occurring substance use, and psychopharmacology. You can also find additional resources about the overall mental health system under Topic Libraries including care coordination and optimization, health care policy and legislation, payer and financing models, and quality standards and performance measures.

What Kind Of Information Can I Find In The Resource Library?

There is a wide variety of educational information found on PsychU regarding the overall improvement of mental health care. Resources available include research summaries, news articles, expert perspective pieces, interviews, short presentations with downloadable slide decks, innovative program profiles, and downloadable disease management and support tools.

How Is The Resource Library Organized?

Information is organized into Topic Libraries, Collections, and Events.

• Topic Libraries are curated arrangements of resources based upon the area they cover. For example, all resources on bipolar disorder can be found in the Bipolar Disorder Topic Library.
• Collections are special curations that house related resources, like our Psychopharmacology Collection that houses a series of streaming educational presentations in modular format, or our Community Voices Collection where all of our expert interviews are housed.
• Events include our currently scheduled live custom programs across the United States, and live streaming Webinars which you can watch from the comfort of your home or office.

How Do I Search For A Post?

There are multiple ways to search on PsychU:

Full Site Search: On any page within PsychU.org you can use the magnifying glass icon at the top right hand side of the page. Click the icon to expand the search bar window, type in your search keywords, and click the magnifying glass again. This will show you the search results for your keywords across all Topic Libraries and Collections. PsychU doesn’t just search titles for your keywords, it searches whole articles. So resources within your search results should include your keyword.

Topic Library Search: For a more focused search, select a Topic Library from the “Topic Library” menu at the top of any page of PsychU.org to navigate to the Topic Library of your choice. Once there, you can search that specific topic library by type of resource, or by keyword.

• By Type: Using the dropdown menu, find the type of resource (e.g. Research Summary) that you would like to browse. Then click “Search” to see results within this topic library by type of resource.
• By Keyword: Type a phrase or word into the free text search box and then click “Search” to see results within this topic library by your

Is There An App For My Phone?

PsychU is not currently available through a mobile device application. However, you can still view the site on your mobile device – or you can even add PsychU.org as a shortcut on your phone. Members can view the “How To: Create A Shortcut To PsychU.org On A Mobile Device” Tutorial Resource in the How To Section of their Member Dashboard.

How Do I Submit A Question To ‘Ask The Expert’?

A variety of PsychU’s Topic Libraries and Collections are guided by Section Editors – experts in the field of mental health care. Members of PsychU can ask these experts a question at any time by submitting a question through the “Ask the Expert” functionality on PsychU.org. Responses to appropriate questions will be posted to PsychU.org for all members’ benefit. To ask one of the PsychU experts a question:

• Select the Topic Library that’s most closely related to your question (Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Schizophrenia, or Stigma)
• In the top right corner of the Topic Library landing page, click the orange “Ask The Expert” button
• Enter your question into the free text box field on the pop up window
• Click the orange “Ask My Question” button to submit your question

What Types Of Events Does PsychU Offer?

PsychU provides customized Live Events across the nation and live, online Webinars. PsychU also exhibits and attends a variety of professional conferences or congresses throughout the year to meet our members in the field and tell others about PsychU.

Who Speaks At PsychU Events?

Live Events and Webinars feature experts in the field of mental health. For live programs, most are co-moderated or hosted by a member of the Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc. (OPDC) Field Medical Affairs Team of Medical Science Liaisons or Managed Market Liaisons. For Webinars, PsychU selects a variety of experts conducting mental health research, or involved in innovative mental health treatment programs across the nation.

Who Can Attend PsychU Events?

PsychU Live Events and Webinars are open to any member of PsychU. If you are not a current member of PsychU, you must signup to be a member before you can register for an event.

How Much Do Live Events / Webinars Cost?

PsychU events are free for all members.

Do I Need To Register For PsychU Programs?

Yes. You need to register for any PsychU program or event you wish to attend. Registration is free for all members. If you are not currently a member of PsychU, you will need to register for PsychU before you can register for one of our events.

• For Live Events: Registration is limited only a certain number of people can attend due to the varying space restrictions of each venue, so registration is very important to ensure your spot.
• For Webinars: Registration is unlimited for Webinars, but in order to receive login credentials for the Webinar software on the day of the event, you will need to register to attend the Webinar.

How Do I View Scheduled Live Events?

To see a list of all Live Events, select “Events” from the main navigation bar on any page of PsychU.org. Then click “Live Events”. This page will show you all of our available events and helpful information for each. For instructions on how to register for an event, please see “How Do I Register For An Event” in this FAQs list.

How Do I Register For An Event?

To Register For A Live Event: Select “Events” from the main navigation bar on any page of PsychU.org. Then click “Live Events”. This page shows all of our available events and helpful information. Selecting the title of an event from the list will take you to the registration page for that event. On the right hand side of the registration page, fill out any of the required criteria under “Register” and then click the orange “Register” button. Once you’ve successfully registered for an event, you should receive an email confirmation from PsychU Events.

To Register For A Webinar: Select “Events” from the main navigation bar on any page of PsychU.org. Then click “Webinars”. This page shows all of our currently scheduled Webinars (updated often). Selecting the title of a Webinar from the list will take you to the registration page for that Webinar. On the right hand side of the registration page, fill out any of the required criteria, and submit any questions you’d like in the free text box under “Register” and then click the orange “Register” button. Once you’ve successfully registered for the Webinar, you should receive an email confirmation from PsychU Events.

How Do I Un-Register For An Event?

If you are unable to attend or no longer wish to be registered for a PsychU Live Event or Webinar, there are a number of ways for you to remove yourself from the registration list.

• Through Your Member Dashboard: Select “Member Dashboard” from the top right hand navigation bar on any page of PsychU.org. Then click “Registrations”. There you will find a list of your current registrations. If you’d like to cancel a registration, click the orange “Remove Registration” button next to the title of the program.
• By Contacting The PsychU Customer Service Team: If you’d like, a member of the PsychU Customer Service Team can help you remove yourself from an event registration list. If you’d like assistance, please send an email to info@psychu.org with your assistance request.

Can I Register My Friends Or Colleagues For An Event?

No, you are not able to register multiple people for an event.

Can I Request A Live Event For My Organization / Region?

To request a custom Live Event presentation for your organization or region, select the Events menu from the navigation bar on any page of PsychU.org and then select “Request Custom Program.” There you can view the currently available presentation topics, as well as watch a short snippet of each presentation. Once you find a topic of interest to you or your organization, fill out the form on the right hand side of the page with your information, select the program you’d like from the drop down menu under “Select Your Requested Presentation” and click the orange “Submit” button to send your request to the PsychU Events team. Someone from the team will be in contact with you once your request is submitted to arrange details for the program.

Why Do You Need My Health Care Licensure Information For A Live Event?

PsychU Live Events are typically conducted in a restaurant or public meeting setting where dinner is provided for registered attendees. If you are a licensed health care professional and you want to attend a PsychU Live Event, you will be required to provide your state health care licensure information as well as the state in which you practice, or your National Provider Identifier number in accordance with state and federal reporting laws governed by the Physician Payment Sunshine Act.

Do The Live Event Presentations Include Dinner?

Yes. Live events typically take place over dinner, which is included with your registration for the event. If you are a licensed health care professional and you want to attend a PsychU Live Event, you will be required to provide your state health care licensure information as well as the state in which you practice, or your National Provider Identifier number in accordance with state and federal reporting laws governed by the Physician Payment Sunshine Act.

What Types Of Presentations Are Available For Custom Program Requests?

If you’d like to view a listing, or watch a snippet of the available custom educational programs, all you need to do is login to PsychU. To access these resources, select the “Events” navigation menu from any page on PsychU.org and click “Request Custom Program”.

Can I Still Attend A Live Event Even If The Registration Is Full?

No. The registration limits for PsychU Live Events are based upon the available capacity that the presentation’s venue can allow. If you are interested in a presentation that is already full, you can always make a request for a custom educational program within your region (see ‘Can I Request A Live Event For My Organization / Region’ in this FAQs list).

Can I Request A Specific Medical Science Liaison (MSL) / Managed Market Liaison (MML) On My Custom Program Request?

No. MSLs and MMLs are available regionally only. Once you submit your custom program request, we’ll put you in contact with the most relevant and available member of the Field Medical Affairs Team to plan your event.

Who Is My Regional Medical Science Liaison (MSL) / Managed Market Liaison (MML)?

To find your regional MSL/MML, visit select “About” from the main navigation bar on any page of PsychU.org. Then click “Field Medical Affairs Team”. You’ll be able to search by state with the available search bar, or learn more about the full Field Medical Affairs Team at your leisure.

What Is A Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Or Managed Market Liaison (MML)?

MSLs/MMLs are part of a team of clinical research professionals who specialize in translating scientific and medical information to a broad range of stakeholders and organizations in the mental health field. For PsychU, MSLs and MMLs are employees or contractors of the Field Medical Affairs team at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc.

How Do I View A List Of Scheduled Webinars?

To see a list of all currently scheduled Webinars, select “Events” from the main navigation bar on any page of PsychU.org. Then click “Webinars”.

How Do I Join A Webinar Broadcast?

Webinars utilize a webinar platform called GoToWebinar. When you register for a Webinar, you should receive an automated email including dial-in instructions on the day of the event. In case you lose your unique join link for the webinar, there are other ways you can join the presentation on the day of the Webinar:

• From Your PsychU Member Dashboard: On the day of the Webinar, select “Member Dashboard” from the top right hand navigation bar on any page of PsychU.org. Then click “Registrations”. Select the “Upcoming Events” registration tab and find the title of the Webinar. To join the Webinar, click the orange “Join Now” button next to the title.
• From The Posted Event Page: On the day of the Webinar, select “Events” from the main navigation bar on any page of PsychU.org. Then click “Webinars”. On this page, select the title of that day’s Webinar to go to the registration page. On the right hand side of the page, where you previously registered for the Webinar, you can click the orange “Attend Webinar Now” button. Click the “Continue To Link Outside Of PsychU” button on the pop up window. This should open a new tab in your internet browser, where you can select “Open GoTo Opener”. This will begin the initialization of the GoToWebinar platform, which will automatically open the broadcast screen. Please make sure that Pop Up windows are enabled on your browser.

What Webinar Platform Is Used For Webinars?

PsychU uses GoToWebinar to host Webinars.

Can I Get A Copy Of A Webinar Slide Deck?

PsychU does not provide advanced copies of our presentation slides, as the posting of a Webinar slide deck is subject to the discretion of the presenters and authors involved in the making of the presentation. However, in most cases, if you attend the Webinar live, you can receive a handout version of the slides. Additionally, a version of the slide deck will typically be provided on the event’s Archived Webinars Page a few weeks after the live event. All PsychU members who are part of the opt-in email list will receive an email letting them know that a recording of the program, as well as the slide deck, is available on PsychU.org.

Are Recordings Of Webinars Available After A Live Broadcast?

All Webinar presentations (a recording of the presentation, and in most cases a downloadable version of the slide deck) are posted to the Webinar Archive a few weeks after the live presentation date. All PsychU members who are part of the opt-in email list will receive an email letting them know that a recording of the program, as well as the slide deck, is available on PsychU.org. If you’d like to receive these types of emails and previously asked to be unsubscribed from the email list, please reach out to the Customer Service Team at info@psychu.org.

Can I Obtain Continuing Education Credits For PsychU Programs Or Resources?

No. PsychU does not offer any CME or CMU credits for any of its events or resources.

How Can I Track My Learning On PsychU?

You can see your progress through PsychU “Test Your Knowledge” questions or through the outlined Learning Track options in your Member Dashboard, under the Accomplishments Tab. Toggle through the tabs (“Knowledge Tested”, “Events Attended”, “Learning Track Progress”, and “All Achievements”) to view your progress. If you participate in a certain number of Events, and answer a certain number of Test Your Knowledge Questions, you can earn a medal badge for your PsychU account. To view the requirements for all levels of badge, please click the “View All Medals & Requirements” button on this screen.

My Employer Wants Proof That I Attended A PsychU Program (Webinar / Live Event). Is This Something I Can Obtain?

PsychU is intended for the individual educational benefit of its members and is not intended as nor should it be used as a formal training program. PsychU does not offer any type of attendance certificates or certificates of any kind.

How Do I Change My Account Information?

To change your account personal Information: including your full name, contact information, affiliation, title, occupational category, or state licensure information; or to reset your password while you’re logged in to PsychU, select “Member Dashboard” from the top right hand navigation of the site. Once on the landing page of your Member Dashboard, click “Manage Account” to change your personal information, or click “Reset Password” to change your account password.

How Do I Reset/Recover My Password?

There are three ways to reset your PsychU account password.

• When Logged In: If you are logged in and wish to reset your password, select “Member Dashboard” from the top right hand navigation on any page of PsychU.org. Then click “Reset Password” and follow the steps to create a new password.
• When Logged Out: If you are not logged in, or can’t remember your password to log in, select “Log In” from the top right hand navigation on any page of PsychU.org. On the Log In page, click “Lost Your Password?” and follow the steps to create a new password for your account.
• By Contacting The PsychU Customer Service Team: If you’d like, a member of the PsychU Customer Service Team can help you change your account password. If you’d like assistance, please send an email to info@psychu.org or contact us by telephone at (855)559-6829 with your assistance request.
