A Virtual Live Event for PsychU members in Texas.
The presenters will discuss the history of psychedelics in therapeutic approaches with a primary focus on psilocybin. They will also review the neurobiology of psychedelics and the role of 5-HT2A receptors, review the results of recently published findings, and discuss the challenges associated with psychedelic-assisted therapies.

Dr. Jain is an Adjunct Clinical Affiliate for the School of Nursing at the University of Texas, Austin; and Co-Founder of WILD-5 Wellness, a wellness intervention that combines five elements of wellness into a prescriptive, easy-to-follow program. She also operates a private psychotherapy practice. Dr. Jain’s research focuses on wellness and the impact of positive psychology on clinical outcomes, exploring the connection of wellness and anti-inflammatory effects, and improvements in disease and wellness markers. She received an MA from the University of Houston-Clear Lake; a PsyD from Southern California University for Professional Studies; and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Dr. Lai is a Medical Science Liaison for Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc. Dr. Lai has over 10 years’ experience managing chronic primary care and mental health conditions at the Veterans Administration and in Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy, completed his Pharmacy Practice Residency at the North Texas Veterans Health Care System and his Psychiatric Pharmacy Practice Residency at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System.
