A Virtual Live Event for PsychU members in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.
Childhood trauma and early life adversity have long-lasting consequences on an individual's mental health. This presentation will make evident the impact of adverse childhood experiences on the brain and associated risks for psychiatric disorders. The discussion will detail the key neurobiological processes de-regulated by early life stress and introduce best practices for trauma-informed care.

Steven Stoner, PharmD, BCPP, is the Chair of Pharmacy & Administration and a Clinical Professor at the UMKC School of Pharmacy. He received his PharmD from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy. Dr. Stoner completed a postdoctoral residency in psychiatric pharmacy practice and administration and a fellowship at Western Missouri Mental Health Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
