Description

The presenters will discuss the history of psychedelics in therapeutic approaches with a primary focus on psilocybin. They will also review the neurobiology of psychedelics and the role of 5-HT2A receptors, review the results of recently published findings, and discuss the challenges associated with psychedelic-assisted therapies.

Event Speakers

Reuben Sutter, MD
Founder & Medical Director, Sage Neuroscience Center

Dr. Sutter is the founder of and Medical Director for Sage Neuroscience Center. He also serves as the medical director at Haven Hospital in Albuquerque, NM and is the former president of the psychiatric Medical Association of New Mexico. Dr. Sutter is board certified in general adult psychiatry and addiction medicine, and his practice focus includes severe mental illness, substance use disorders, and treatment resistant depression. He supervises the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation service and assists in the ketamine clinic at Sage. Both services focus on treatment resistant depression.
