Description

The presentation will highlight the need for alternative treatment in depression. The discussion will explore the evolution of neuromodulation therapies by reviewing examples of invasive and noninvasive techniques to modulate neural networks within the brain.

Event Speakers

Martin Guerrero, MD
Psychiatrist

Dr. Guerrero is a board-certified psychiatrist in the areas of Forensic, Geriatric, and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is currently practicing in both inpatient and outpatient settings and supervises a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) clinic in El Paso, Texas. He was previously affiliated with a university medical school until he left to obtain a law degree. While in academia, he was involved in clinical trials related to schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and depression as well as epidemiologic studies in Alzheimer’s disease. Since graduating law school, he has become a member of the Texas and New Mexico bars and consults in forensic medical issues and medical malpractice defense. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, and the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association.
