Description

Virtual Forum: Understanding The Role Of Social Determinants In Population Health

Location: Online Via PsychU.org

Description: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention define social determinants of health as economic and social conditions that influence the health of people and communities. Why are income, housing, and employment important to people’s well-being? This virtual forum will answer that question and provide insight into what health care providers must do to address social determinants in their service delivery strategies. Dr. Arthur Evans, PhD, Commissioner of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Service (DBHIDS); and Dr. Paul Block, PhD, Vice President for Behavioral Health Services, Riverside Community Care, Dedham, MA, will share their experience in improving the health status of people in need of behavioral health and/or intellectual disability services. The virtual forum will conclude with time to answer questions submitted by the audience.
