Virtual Forum: Stigma In Mental Health: Breaking Down Barriers & Uncovering Opportunities

Location: Online Via PsychU.org

Description: For individuals living with mental health disorders, stigmatization can form a barrier to seeking help and achieving recovery and social integration. Recently, investigations of stigma in mental health and its impact have expanded from a focus on the general public to include the role of mental health professionals in propagating or mitigating stigma. In this virtual forum, Allen Doederlein and Paul Gionfriddo will discuss the current state of stigma within mental health practice, consider how to optimally engage individuals living with mental health disorders, and review some resources and tools that can aid in targeting and breaking down stigma in clinical practice. The virtual forum will conclude with time for questions from the audience.
Allen Doederlein and Paul Gionfriddo are paid consultants for Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc.
