Virtual Forum: Future Of Psychopharmacology: Is New Treatment Innovation Still Alive?
Location: Online Via PsychU.org
Description: While past decades saw a boom in the development of innovative new treatments in the field of psychiatry, the pace has slowed in more recent years. In this virtual forum, Stephen Stahl, MD, PhD will discuss the reasons behind the slowing of psychopharmacologic advances in recent years, address the importance of targeting symptoms theorized to be caused by inefficiently functioning neurocircuits common to a large array of psychiatric disorders, and examine the future potential for genetic and imaging biomarkers to aid in defining subpopulations on a neurobiological basis. The virtual forum will conclude with time for questions from the audience.
Dr. Stahl is a paid consultant to Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development and Commercialization, Inc. and will be compensated for participation in this event.
