Event:  Implementing Technology Into The Management Of Patients With Mental Health Disorder

Location:  The Pavilion at the Angus Barn - 9401-1 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC  27617

Objective:

  • Review current developments for digital health in psychiatry and areas where technology can be used in clinical practice
  • Consider advantages and challenges of using digital tools in mental healthcare
  • Discuss approaches and challenges to implementation and adoption of digital technology in the mental health clinic

Event Speakers

Craig Chepke, MD, FAPA
Featured Speaker

Craig Chepke, MD is a Board-Certified psychiatrist and has been named a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He attended NYU School of Medicine and completed his residency training at Duke University. He has a private practice in Huntersville, NC, is the medical director of a residential adolescent treatment facility and serves an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry for the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Chepke has special interests in movement disorders, neuropsychiatric conditions, and treatment-resistant mental illness. He strongly emphasizes psychotherapeutic interventions and encourages physical health and wellness through exercise, dietary modification, and supplementation. He is an investigator in clinical trials and serves on the Board of Directors of nonprofit organizations benefitting Schizophrenia and Huntington’s Disease.

 

Kristen Nagy, PharmD, BCPP, BCPS
Featured Speaker

Kristen Nagy PharmD, BCPS, BCPP is a dual board-certified pharmacotherapy and psychiatric pharmacotherapy pharmacist. She graduated from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York with her doctorate in pharmacy. She works for Atrium Health Behavioral Health Center Charlotte as the clinical pharmacy coordinator in psychiatry. She is also an assistant professor with the Sandra and Leon Levine Psychiatry Residency Program at Atrium Health and an affiliate instructor of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine-Columbia. Dr. Nagy is strong advocate for psychopharmacology education and is always seen teaching medical students, medical residents, pharmacy students, pharmacy residents, providers or anyone who will listen about neurotransmitters.

 

Brenden O’Hara, RPh, BCAP

Brenden O’Hara graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy, after graduation he began his career in Community Pharmacy working in various positions from Staff Pharmacist to District Pharmacy Manager. In 2009 he began his current focus on Managed care at Physicians Pharmacy Alliance (as a Clinical Pharmacist and then Provider Relations Director.) From there he moved to a computer software company, Ateb, to develop programs for Community Pharmacies related to STARS, Medication Synchronization and the Appointment Based model. He began at Blue Cross NC in 2015 when he was Hired as a Clinical Review Pharmacist, and now works on Value Based Programs implementing pharmacy quality programs. Brenden is active within the profession (NCAP, APhA, AMCP) and has held positions at the State and National level, he currently serves AMCP as the Diplomat for Campbell, and a member of the School of Pharmacy Resource Committee.
