Description: The objectives of this presentation are to explore unmet needs in the treatment of MDD, review the monoamine hypothesis in the etiology of MDD and monoamine circuits in the brain, summarize some alternative hypotheses in the etiology of MDD, and describe the proposed mechanisms of action of current treatment options for MDD.
