Virtual Forum: Evolving Psychiatry: Technology For Patient Care

Description: This virtual forum will include brief overviews of digital technology in psychiatry, presented by leading expert David Mohr, PhD, Director at the Center of Behavioral Intervention Technologies and Professor at Department of Preventive Medicine Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine Chicago, IL and Julia Hoffman, PsyD, National Director of Mobile Mental Health at US Department of Veterans Affairs Menlo Park, CA. Discussion will surround some of the barriers to optimal psychiatric care in the US before considering the advantages that digital technology may offer in the assessment and management of mental illness. Some of the technologies discussed will include digital psychosocial interventions, mHealth sensors, mobile device applications and telepsychiatry. The talk will finish by discussing some of the challenges to the adoption of digital technology. The virtual forum will conclude with time for questions from the audience.
