Description: Given the complexity of schizophrenia and suboptimal treatment outcomes, it is important that a multidisciplinary approach be considered when caring for patients. In this Virtual Forum, Brooke Kempf, NP, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the Hamilton Center; Michael Townsend, LMSW, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Gateway Counseling Center, Inc.; and Shauna Garris, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP, Psychiatric Pharmacy Clinical Specialist & Resident Coordinator at UNC Health Care System /UNCMC and Adjunct Professor at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, will provide their perspectives on two patient case studies. Speakers will also discuss the role of social workers, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists in symptom management, relapse prevention, treatment adherence, and metabolic wellness monitoring.
