Virtual Forum: Bridging The Gap Between Primary Care & Psychiatry In The Treatment Of MDD: A Discussion Among Nurses

Description: While collaboration between primary care and psychiatry is a goal in treating mental illness, there remains significant opportunities for improvement. Nurses are well-positioned to contribute to this effort. In this virtual forum, Roland Larkin, PhD, NP, Kimberly Lonergan, RN, MSN, and Venus Miller, MSN, ARNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, will review the prevalence and burden of MDD, discuss problematic gaps between primary care and psychiatry, examine the role of nurses in collaborative care models designed to bridge these gaps, and explore the potential of evidence-based scales in contributing to improved outcomes. The virtual forum will conclude with time for questions from the audience.
